Frequently Asked Questions
Buying equipment is easy. You can check detailed equipment information and photos before you place a bid. You will need to be logged in to participate in 'Bid Now' sales.
- We have two main Sale Types – ‘Bid Now’ and ‘Buy Now’. Bid Now This is for our auction-like sales, where each item as a fixed end date. Within Bid Now, there are two Sale Types: • ‘Open Bidding Sale’ is where bidding is open and visible to other people. You can see bids placed on the item by other bidders, and what the current highest bid is. Bidding typically works in ‘increments’ and the next bid is one increment higher than the existing bid. • ‘Sealed Bidding Sale’ is where your bid is private, and unknown to other bidders. Typically, bidders submit their best and final offer for the item. At the close of the sale, the bids are reviewed, and the highest bidder is contacted. Buy Now This is for items we have in stock and are available for immediate purchase. Within this sale type there are 3 different ways to purchase an item: • Buy Now - This option allows for immediate purchase of an item at a fixed price. It offers a convenient and direct way to acquire the desired item. • Make an Offer - With this option, you can propose a price for the item. You have the flexibility to submit an offer either above or below the listed price, initiating a potential negotiation process. • Request a Price - Where an item is advertised without a specific price, you can use this option to inquire about the price of the item.
If you are the highest bidder in a 'Bid Now' sale, you will receive an e-mail. We will then start the Customer Due Diligence process and will inform you of any additional information required.
We also provide inspection, insurance, financial solutions and transportation via our partners.
To avoid the practice of 'Sniping', we sometimes use a bidding extension system. This means the end time of the auction is extended until there is a period of time with no bidding.
Our bidding increments are generally XXX. Please note, if the bidding is extended at the end of a sale the bidding increments may be lowered, keep at eye out at the end of the sale incase they change.
By setting a 'Set Max Bid' you place your maximum offer, and your bids will be placed automatically by our bidding system.
This is the next available bid you can place on the item. Each bid goes up in set bidding increments, and the Next Minimum offer lets you know what the next available bid is.
Some items have a Reserve Price, or minimum selling price, listed. When Reserve price not met is showing, this means the minimum selling price has not been met and the item is not automatically sold to the highest bidder at the end of the sale.
This means the Reserve price, or minimum selling price, has been met and the item is automatically sold to the highest bidder at the end of the sale (subject to compliance checks).
We have NO commision on any of our sales. There are no hidden fees, you pay what you bid!
